1994 - Present,  Petroleum Engineer, Valenti Engineering Services, Inc.

With experience as team leader and reservoir engineer in addition to strong background knowledge in the areas of drilling, completion, geology, geophysics and petrophysics, Nick  participates in and manages multi-discipline projects.  A skilled reservoir engineer that uses leading edge engineering software to conduct international projects that  require reservoir characterization and reserve evaluation.   As a professional engineer he also serves as an expert witness and international instructor.  Typically, such projects, undertaken for a varied client group, include one or more of the following elements:

  • Reservoir Simulation Modeling
  • Volumetric and Material Balance Analyses
  • Production Decline Analysis and Forcasting
  • Pressure Transicent and Nodal Analyses
  • Reserve Evaluation for Acquisition and Annual Reporting
  • Historical Reservoir Performance Review
  • Economic Analysis and Reservoir Management Strategy
  • Interpretation of Open-Hole and Cased-Hole Logs
  • Interpretation of Core and Fluid Analyses

1992 - 1994,  Vice President, MANCO Oil & Gas Technologies, Inc.

Served as chief reservoir engineer for an integrated petroleum engineering consulting firm.  In addition to his responsibility in building a consulting practice, he performed reserve assessments to assist clients in their acquisition and exploitation efforts.

 1989 - 1992,  Senior Petroleum Engineer, Exxon Company U.S.A.

Having reservoir and completion engineering responsibilities while being assigned to various production districts in Texas and Oklahoma.  Responsibilities also included screening oil and gas properties based on potential undeveloped reserves with the purpose of developing a re-vitalization or divestment plan.  The revitalization projects involved recompletions, stimulations and waterflood enhancements.  Worked on technology transfer projects with Los Alamos National Laboratory.  The technologies include: fracture mapping and retrofitting down-hole logging tools to operate at temperatures in excess of 350oF.

1982 - 1989, Senior Petroleum Engineer, Exxon Production Research Company

Performed integrated reservoir simulation studies on oil, gas and condensate fields located in the North Sea and United States. These studies ranged from one-man projects to integrated engineering and geology teams. Evaluated reservoir description data: pressure transient analysis, open-hole and cased-hole logs, conventional and special core analyses, and fluid property analyses. Performed nodal analyses and fluid characterization with equation-of-state models. Prepared reservoir simulation project proposals. Stewarded project costs and monthly project summaries. Co-authored SPE professional papers on two North Sea reservoir simulation studies.
